Parties may need to transfer property between either related or non-related persons for a variety of reasons, and at Victorian Property Settlements, we strive to adapt to all of our clients’ individual needs.

As a general rule, we can complete a party-to-party transfer within 1-2 business days; however, due to individual-specific specific, this may be longer due to third-party requirements. For example, Parties who a related by birth or marriage need to have a manual stamp duty assessment, of which the State Revenue Office requires 28 days to action, and the property may be encumbered by a mortgage requiring a similar period of time for their legal offices to review.

For this reason, and as best practice, we advise parties to obtain advice prior to entering into an arrangement, and also to speak to our office one on one for tailored advice.
